Re-designed webpage makes Illinois grain and livestock reports more accessible
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - The latest Illinois grain and livestock reports now are only three mouse clicks away! Market News, a joint service of the USDA and the Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA), has re-designed its page on the IDOA website to make it easier to find and navigate.
Clients now just need to go online to www.agr.state.il.us and click on "Grain & Livestock Prices." They then will be directed to the Market News page, where reports are listed under six menus.
"It's very simple to use," Market News reporter Jerry Millburg said. "For example, if you need to know bids for corn, soybeans or wheat, just click on the Illinois Grain Reports menu. It'll link you to six different reports containing pricing information from country elevators, grain terminals and grain processors."
Other menus include links to Audio Reports, Illinois Livestock Reports, Illinois Hay Reports, U.S. Regional and National Reports and National Agricultural Statistics Reports.
"The audio reports are a new feature," Millburg said. "Up to 14 different reports, ready for download and broadcast, will be posted on the site daily. Anyone can listen to them, but I think farm reporters, in particular, will find them useful."
The Market News office welcomes feedback about its reports. It can be reached at (217) 782-4925.
