WEBINAR:
“EXPORT ESSENTIALS – PUTTING FREE TRADE AGREEMENTS TO WORK FOR YOU”, AUGUST
26, 2010.
Webinar: “Export Essentials – Putting Free Trade Agreements to Work for You”.
This webinar is the third in a series of “Export Essentials” webinars about
the fundamentals and logistics of exporting.
U.S. Free Trade Agreements such as NAFTA have lowered many trade
restrictions for U.S. products and given U.S. exporters an unprecedented
level of access to many international markets. These reductions have in many
instances been particularly advantageous for exporters of value-added food
and agricultural products.
Join us for our August 26th webinar on Free Trade Agreements to learn more
about:
- What is a Free Trade
Agreement (FTA)?
- Why is it important to
know about FTAs when developing your export strategy?
- The current status of
existing and pending U.S. Bilateral Free Trade Agreements?
- Tariff Elimination and
Documenting Origin for Free Trade Agreements?
- Q & A Session with
Dennis Lynch.
About the Presenter:
The webinar will be hosted by Food Export—Midwest and Food
Export—Northeast’s export counselor Dennis Lynch, who over the years has helped
hundreds of companies learn more about the “How Tos” of exporting through our
free of charge Food Export HelplineTM service. Dennis has been directly
involved in monitoring, troubleshooting and facilitating export transactions
for more than 20 years. He is a dynamic and informative speaker who speaks
regularly at educational seminars throughout our organizations’ Midwest and
Northeast regions. Contact Kim Hamilton at kim.hamilton@illinois.gov

Farm-to-School
Network Rolling Up Its Sleeves
Farm to School brings healthy food from local
farms to school children nationwide. The program teaches students about the
path from farm to fork, and instills healthy eating habits that can last a
lifetime. At the same time, use of local produce in school meals and
educational activities provides a new direct market for farmers in the area
and mitigates environmental impacts of transporting food long distances. More
than 30 million children eat a school lunch five days a week, 180 days a
year. If school lunch can taste great, and support the local community, it is
a win-win for everyone. Home.
