Illinois Department of Agriculture Tent at the Farm Progress Show

The Farm Progress Show, America's premier farm show, is located biennially near Decatur, Illinois. This show draws farmers from throughout Illinois and the Midwest, as well as many international visitors. The Farm Progress Show is the major Midwest event that showcases new technology and science available from commercial agriculture, and it serves as the event where several new products are first introduced to farmers.

The Decatur show site includes 640 acres of exhibits and field demonstrations. The former "Tent City" exhibit area, as it has been known from past Farm Progress Shows, has been renamed "Progress City" for its permanent location as the venue's focal point. More than 200 acres of established sod are used for primary visitor parking plus adjacent fields are utilized for overflow. The site has been developed similar to an industrial park - providing electricity, telephone lines and drainage. Two cellular towers less than two miles from the show site are upgraded during the show to provide additional line availability for cellular telephones. More than 12,500 hotel rooms are located within 45 minutes of the show site in Decatur and nearby communities of Springfield, Bloomington-Normal and Champaign-Urbana. Richland Community College is closed during the show so that campus facilities can be made available for show use, as needed.

The Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA) will have a tent in "Progress City". IDOA will utilize part of the tent space to showcase agency activities. The remaining space is offered to Illinois based, not-for-profit agricultural entities. This allows these organizations to showcase their area of expertise in promoting Illinois agriculture. IDOA also has, within the tent, a stage area for presentations. Organizations can schedule presentation times in conjunction with their exhibit space on this stage area. Download a Participation Form.

The Farm Progress Show is the newest developments in machinery, seeds, pesticides, buildings, livestock feed and equipment as well as many other related products available for agricultural production in the Midwest. Don't miss your Organization's chance to showcase your product or services in the IDOA tent. We look forward to working with you at this show.
