Dear Media Organization,
Illinois’ county fairs are getting underway and that means we’re on the road to the 2005 Illinois State Fair. We at the Fair Press Office are looking forward to another great year of working with you. Beginning Aug. 1, you can still find our offices in the north end of the Grandstand. Until then we will be located in the Emerson building.
Press Credentials are required for all working media wanting access to the fairgrounds. Credential requests can be sent via mail to: Illinois State Fair Press Office, P.O. Box 19427, Springfield, IL 62794 or faxed to 217-782-9115.
Requests should be made on company letterhead and include the names of those needing credentials, their official titles, and the days they will be attending the fair. (We’d like to have the bulk of these by July 29, 2005, so we’re ready for Press Preview credential issuance.)
Credentials will be available beginning at Press Preview on August 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Director’s Lawn. Credentialing will continue in the Press Office August 5th until August 11th from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., and during the fair from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. Remember, credentials are issued in person only.
During the fair, enter through Gate 7 to obtain your credentials. Please bring a copy the original request your outlet made to our office from your assignment person or editor, to prevent delays at this gate.
