Twilight Parade

FAMILY FUN FOR EVERYONE

map of parade route Each year, the Illinois State Fair Twilight Parade marches proudly through Springfield, announcing the ten day annual showcase of Illinois Agriculture and unique entertainment. This year's parade begins on August 9th at 6:00 p.m. The parade will step-off at Ninth Street and North Grand Avenue, it will travel down Ninth to Peoria Road and then north on Peoria Road to Eleventh Street, which will take the parade through the Main Gate. The parade then will follow Main Street through the fairgrounds to Grandstand Avenue before concluding at the north end of the Grandstand. Awards will be presented after the parade to the best entries at the Pork Pavilion.

Admission to the fairgrounds is free on Preview Night. All carnival rides, including those in Adventure Village, will be open and offered at a discounted price.

There is something for both young and old in the parade - from marchers to riders on horseback and you too can be a part of the fun. The Illinois State Fair is looking for groups who are interested in participating in the parade. This year's theme is "FAMILY FUN FOR EVERYONE". Participation details and forms are available below. Marching Band Prizes And Awards
High School Bands will compete during the Parade, August 9.

Float Entries
Float entries are open to both commercial and non-commercial groups. Floats must be build around the Parade Theme.

Specialty Units
A specialty unit is defined as any other parade unit that is not a float, equestrian, queen. This can include, but is not limited to specialty vehicles and entertainers. If specialty includes walkers, walking unit rules apply.
