DCEO STEP Export Assistance
The state's Office of Trade and Investment (OTI) located at the Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity provides a variety of export assistance programs, including Trade Missions and Programs, designed to help Illinois companies locate distribution channels for their products and services in foreign markets. The 2011 federal STEP award of $1.26 million will help provide small and medium-sized businesses with financial and technical assistance, including the opportunity to participate in group Trade Missions or Individual Foreign Market Sales Missions, over three years.

Food Export Midwest's Branded Program: A Cost-Share Funding Program
To become a successful exporter, you must have the resources to adequately promote your products overseas. Funding available through Food Export Association of the Midwest USA's Branded Program can help!

Foreign Agriculture Service
The Foreign Agriculture Service (FAS) offers a number of programs for individuals or companies who plan to export their agriculture product, including: export counseling, trade shows, trade leads, U.S. suppliers lists, foreign buyer lists and foreign market research. FAS also provides a number of programs to help U.S. exporters of agriculture products.

Market Access Program
The Market Access Program (MAP), formerly the Market Promotion Program, uses funds from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) to help U.S. producers, exporters, private companies, and other trade organizations finance promotional activities for U.S. agricultural products. The MAP encourages the development, maintenance, and expansion of commercial export markets for agricultural commodities. Activities financed include consumer promotions, market research, technical assistance, and trade servicing.
