OWNER'S AWARDS

An Owner's Award is earned when an Illinois-Registered Thoroughbred finishes first, second or third in some types of OPEN RACES, including maiden special weights, allowance races, overnight handicaps and claiming races with a claiming price of $10,000 or more. The Owner's Award is an additional 60% of the earned portion of the purse for an Illinois Conceived and Foaled Thoroughbred (IB) or an additional 40% of the earned portion of the purse for an Illinois Foaled Thoroughbred (IF).

If the winner of the race is an Illinois Conceived and Foaled Thoroughbred (IB).

Gross Purse $22,000
x 60% = Winner's Share $13,200
x 60% = Owner's Award $ 7,920
The winner of the race gets $21,120

If the winner of the race is an Illinois Foaled Thoroughbred (IF).

Gross Purse $22,000
x 60% = Winner's Share $13,200
x 40% = Owner's Award $ 5,280
The winner of the race gets $18,480

If the second place finisher is an Illinois Conceived and Foaled Thoroughbred (IB).

Gross Purse $22,000
x 20% = Second Place Share $ 4,400
x 60% = Owner's Award $ 2,640
The second place finisher gets $ 7,040

If the second place finisher is an Illinois Foaled Thoroughbred (IF).

Gross Purse $22,000
x 20% = Second Place Share $ 4,400
x 40% = Owner's Award $ 1,760
The second place finisher gets $ 6,160
