Application deadline for the next round of funding is December 11, 2007. Applications are accepted yearround; however, they will be considered during the next round of funding if received after December 11, 2007.

NOTE - AgriFIRST grant funds for capital/construction projects will only cover 10 percent of these costs. Applicants are responsible for providing ninety percent of the funds for all capital/construction projects.

If anyone has applied in the past and would like to reapply you are welcome to resubmit an updated application.  Any questions should be directed to Delayne Reeves at Delayne.Reeves@illinois.gov.

AgriFIRST grant money cannot be used to provide funding for technology research1; promotion of proprietary products or for compliance with the provisions of the Livestock Management Facilities Act. Applicant's equity contribution must equal at least 10% of the total project cost. In-kind contributions cannot be more than 20% of the total project cost.

1 Research can be funded for activities related to feasibility studies, technical assistance, market research, technical product design, development and market testing, business plan development and pre-design of facilities for the purpose of adding commercial value to agricultural commodities.
